Welcome to the June newsletter from CG Pro-Active HR. This month, for something slightly different, I’m taking a look at perspective, fake news, propaganda or “spin”….in other words, how information is presented, the message that accompanies it and how that alters what we hear or read. Just the label you choose gives implied meaning - presenting a different spin on information is seen as wholly separate from propaganda where it could be argued they are one and the same! How does this relate to HR? There’s the HR messages we deliver in our difficult conversations and getting these across, anything from performance to redundancy. Then there’s the people data we pull together for our organisations and any interpretation we provide to go with the numbers. And, of course, perspective plays a part in our L&D and the training we choose to offer. Finally, perspective is so important in our employee engagement, inclusion and employee involvement work.
