This is traditionally the time of year for holidays, whether you prefer sightseeing, a cruise or just a sunbed and a good book, its all about taking some well-earned time off.

Its looking like this year’s summer getaway might have its challenges with airport shortages, train strikes and rising numbers of Covid infections taking their toll on some holiday plans. But, despite the potential obstacles, I hope you have the opportunity for a great break!

What’s happening and trending in HR and work……

SPOTLIGHT ON…

This month, rather than feature a specific organisation, I want to celebrate the 2022 Commonwealth Games, coming to Birmingham later this month.

I have been lucky enough to be accepted as a volunteer for the Games and will be part of the Commonwealth Collective, making an impact for visitors to our region.

This month, my focus is on my volunteer role at the Commonwealth Games.

I will be at a variety of sessions across the Midlands and, hopefully, able to catch a mix of sports.

I am also more than happy to be sociable between my volunteer shifts, to meet up, just get in touch for a virtual coffee break ☕ or dog walking meeting if you’re local 🐾🐾
